A Pleasantville dance studio is preparing to welcome clients once again as the region moves into phase four of reopening next week.
Unlike malls, it’s not required for low-risk indoor recreation facilities like Breaking Ground Dance Center to install a HEPA filter system. But the studio is not taking any chances.
The owner had a new hospital-grade air filter system put in place to ensure the safety of everyone who comes there.
“I can definitely tell the difference myself cause I’ve been here every day and I can definitely feel like the air we're breathing is much fresher and cleaner," says Marissa Giacobbe, owner of Breaking Ground Dance Center.
News 12 was told that the new air filter system costs around $50,000.
In addition to the new air filter system, the dance center is following other safety guidelines, including social distancing markers and plenty of hand sanitizer to go around.
