Hundreds headed to Rye Playland over the weekend to see some impressive military machinery.

Westchester County hosted its annual Veterans Appreciation and Memorial Tribute at the historic amusement park. Events included a barbecue for county vets and their families and a demonstration of military vehicles, small arms and artillery.

The highlight of the event was when U.S. Marines flew in two of their helicopters. Spectators were able to walk up to the choppers and check them out.

The Marines plan to show the helicopter off again today at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle.
