In what seems to be an effort to move beyond the scandal surrounding Republican attorney general candidate Jeanine Pirro, she is now shifting focus on her opponent.
In a television ad, Pirro prods Democratic challenger Andrew Cuomo to a statewide debate. Pirro also mentions the federal investigation, involving her alleged attempt to bug her husband's boat, in the ad. Pirro claims the U.S. Attorney?s office admitted to her lawyer she never wiretapped anyone. Pirro says in the ad it is time for the investigation into her private life to end.
Some political analysts think Pirro is making a mistake by mentioning the federal probe in her ads. They say many upstate voters may not be aware of the investigation, until now.
