Peekskill nurse busted in drug trafficking crackdown
A registered nurse is behind bars Friday for allegedly selling drugs from her Peekskill home.
Police say Laura Hinkley, 32, sold drugs from her home in the Stonegate Apartments on Crompond Road. They say she would take orders by phone and then deliver the drugs to her customers. Police seized 55 bags of heroin along with marijuana and prescription drugs. In addition, they found a doctor's blank prescription pad along with thousands of dollars in cash.
Hinkley's arrest comes after a four-month investigation by Peekskill and Ossining police into drug trafficking. Hinkley is being held in the Westchester County Jail without bail. She is due back in court Monday.
