? Rev. Darryl George appeared in a New Jersey courtroom Wednesday, after he was arrested for an alleged fight at his son?s high school Jan. 9.
George pleaded not guilty to felony assault, weapons and conspiracy charges.
The religious and civil rights leader in Yonkers is accused of taking part in a schoolyard brawl at Millburn High School in New Jersey.
Police say George, his 19-year-old son, Lamar, and his 15-year-old son beat and attacked another student at the school with a baseball bat.
A spokesman told News 12 Westchester last week that George?s younger son was the target of racially motivated death threats at the school.
The judge ordered George and both sons to stay away from the victim and witnesses and barred all three from Millburn High School property.
George?s 15-year-old son will not be allowed to return to school.
Superintendent of the Millburn Schools Richard Brodow denies that George?s son was threatened and says the allegations are false.
?This was not a situation that was precipitated by the George family,? says George?s lawyers.
George and his 19-year-old son are expected to return to court Feb. 23.
