Parking puts White Plains drivers in a tight spot
Residents living on Park Avenue in White Plains say they have been unjustly ticketed by the city for parking in their improvised driveways.
City officials handed out some 30 tickets over the past few weeks, arguing that people who live on Park Avenue have been parking their vehicles illegally on the sidewalk, not in their driveways.
Neighbors living in multifamily homes say they don't have a choice but to park their cars in the makeshift driveways because there is not enough space in garages.
Following complaints, police have stopped handing out new parking tickets and dismissed all the previously issued tickets.
