Parents are stunned at the fatal shooting of a man across the street from a White Plains day care center.
Police say 30-year-old Kevin Chambliss was shot in the torso around 3:45 p.m. Monday on Ferris Avenue. Chambliss later died of his injuries. Police apprehended 31-year-old Cedric Walker after witnesses described a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood. Police confiscated a handgun in Walker?s car.
Walker is charged with possession of a weapon, however, murder charges may be pending. Police are investigating if the shooting was gang-related. Related Information Shooting in White Plains leaves one man dead
