Parents at PEARLS Hawthorne School and Yonkers High School are sending a message to Albany that they are tired of education cuts.
They say they want Albany to come face to face with everything they have taken over the years from their kids to balance the state budget.
Parents sent postcards to Albany with messages including #wedeservebetter, #wedeservequalifiedsubs and #weneedmore.
They say everything but the required courses are subject to the chopping block in the next budget, and they are concerned about their children's education.
"We want to show the faces of these children," said one parent. "We have beautiful children. They do wonderful things, but they are hindered a lot by the lack of funding in school."
The superintendent of schools says he needs an extra $89 million to bring back all the programs cut in Yonkers over the years.
