Parents say picking up their kids at one New Rochelle school has become a costly process.
They say that drop-off and dismissal time at William Ward Elementary School is chaotic when it comes to parking, and has pit parents against the police.

The principal of the school sent a letter to parents last month urging them to follow the law after parking and traffic laws were violated.
However, parents say that with 1,100 students at the school, parking is difficult during drop-off and pickup. Some parents choose to double park.
"It forced two lanes of traffic into one in opposite directions, so you have people going in the wrong lane of traffic,” says New Rochelle City Manager Charles Strome.
This has left police to step up enforcement. In just one week, parents were slapped with 38 traffic tickets.

Strome says legislation is being considered, including eliminating some spaces to ease traffic flow.
