More than 1,200 customers in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley are waking up without power Thursday morning following Wednesday's storms.
Con Edison reports nearly 1,000 customers are still in the dark, primarily in northern Westchester. The outages are concentrated in the areas of Ossining, Chappaqua, and Briarcliff Manor.
As crews work to restore power, officials urge residents to exercise caution around downed trees and power lines. Never approach downed wires, as they may still be live and carry a dangerous electric current.
If you encounter downed lines, immediately call 911 and stay in your vehicle until emergency responders arrive.
