Pleasantville residents are facing a second power outage since Tropical Storm Isaias swept through Westchester County nearly two weeks ago.

Jacob Graj says he was at home when the lights suddenly went out at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
"I looked out my window, I heard a loud bang, there was like an explosion. White lights, I saw," he says. "I heard things fall, I looked over here and the wires were right next to my car. I got lucky, they didn't hit the car."

Electrical contractor Scottie Bryan says, "A lightning strike is what caused this. It flashed over and caused the wire to burn and hit the ground."

Contract workers from Con Edison were on the scene, working to repair the problem. They expected to make the necessary repairs and have the electricity back on for all or most of the customers within a few hours.

"We've got about 150 to 200 customers on this. I'd say within three hours, we'll have it back up," says Bryan.
