For most people, age 65 is synonymous with the year you hang up your hat, unless you're Betty Lupetin.
Now 90, and with more than 75 years in the workforce, Lupetin is showing no signs of slowing down. Her job as an office assistant at CareMount Medical is just the latest chapter in what has been a storied career for the Ossining native.
It all started at age 16 for Lupetin, when the U.S. was at war. She quickly graduated from housekeeping to a job at Woolworth's department store. She says she then worked for General Motors for 37 years, starting on the old switchboard before moving onto the mail room to accounting.
She did retire after her stint at GM, until one fateful visit with her doctor two years later. That doctor offered her a job and, 20 years later, the great-grandmother is still working five days a week.
