Ossining train station reopens after fume concerns
The Ossining train station has reopened and Hudson line service is operating with scattered delays, according to the MTA.
Trains were skipping the station and delays were reported due to an incident involving noxious fumes at a nearby building.
Chopper 12 was overhead as noxious fumes came out of the Metalized Carbon Corporation building on Park Street. The company manufactures industrial products. Authorities say a tank inside the building overheated and sent fumes into the air.
Firefighters told News 12 that there was no need for evacuations and the incident has been contained.
Three firefighters were treated and released at the scene after inhaling the fumes, authorities say.
While service to the Ossining station was delayed, commuters were taken to the Croton-Harmon train station and shuttled back to Ossining.
