Orange County man sentenced to 80 years in attempted murder of state troopers

Among other charges, Patrick Hermanowski was convicted in March of two counts of attempted first-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

An Orange County man will spend 80 years to life in state prison for the attempted murder of two state troopers in 2021.
Authorities say they responded to a home for a report of a domestic dispute. Patrick Hermanowski then took off to Mamakating in Sullivan County.
Officials say he fired at two responding state troopers from an abandoned trailer he went inside of.
Hermanowski was hit by returned fire and was taken into custody.
