The Warwick Drive-in movie theater is preparing to reopen after closing months ago due to the pandemic.
News 12 is told tickets have already sold out online for the theater on Warwick Turnpike. This is the first year tickets were sold online.
For safety, cars are being limited to half capacity and concession sales will be handled through the app.
"Snack bars have plexiglass up and we're working on an app where you can order from your car and do a curbside pickup,” says owner Beth Wilson.
Wilson says she’s expecting a huge turnout and is excited to see her staff and customers again.
“Our country and state are starting to reopen a little bit and this is the first sign. It gives us hope we're all going in the right direction,” says the second-generation owner.
Moviegoers will still need to follow social distance guidelines and wear masks when outside of their vehicles. Security will also be in place to ensure the safety of all.
As an added bonus, the owner also mentioned that schools in New York and New Jersey are booking the venue for upcoming graduations.
