An Orange County community gave a final farewell to a firefighter on Sunday.

Funeral services in New Windsor for Alec Tannenbaum were streamed online.

After the Vails Gate volunteer firefighter finished his shift Tuesday, he was found unresponsive at his home.

His sudden passing is not considered a line of duty death.

Tannenbaum also served in the Marines and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had just recently became a full time West Point firefighter.

He was 29 years old.
