Officials say that 157 snakes were seized from a Newburgh home.
Authorities say they were alerted by Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx  that a man had been bitten by a venomous Asian pit viper that he owned. They later found the snakes in his basement.
Staff from the Bronx Zoo were at the house Tuesday to take the snakes to the zoo.
