Westchester County Executive George Latimer provided a coronavirus update from Kensico Dam Plaza and was joined by Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation officials for an announcement on summer recreation at the dam.
BRIEFING NOTES:
- There are 725 active cases of coronavirus in the county, and 216,186 people in the county have been tested. Latimer says around 100 people are hospitalized for COVID-19.
- Officials say four county pools will reopen for the summer. They say they have been able to keep a "good portion" of county parks open.
- Kensico Dam will be holding two drive-thru movies. Officials say the park usually sees around 10,000 people on a daily basis.
- Latimer says some of the county's summer camps will reopen this year on July 6.
