If you’re cleaning up flood damage this weekend, health officials want you to be aware of some potential health risks.
The Putnam County Health Department says those cleaning things up should be concerned about more than just mold if you own an older home.
Asbestos fibers would be released in the air by moving around insulation. ceiling tiles or floor tiles, officials warn.
For those with homes built before 1978, lead should also be on your mind.
Officials say if these are problems you might deal with, they should be dealt with by a professional.
They also say if you lost power, food should be OK as long as it wasn’t above 40 degrees for more than two hours.
