Officials say four men are dead and another three people were injured in a shooting at a possible gambling location in Crown Heights Saturday morning.
They say officers were called around 7 a.m. to 74 Utica Ave. Investigators say at least 15 shots were fired. They estimate that at least 15 people were inside the location at the time of the shooting.
Officials say the three injured include at least one woman, and that all injuries are serious but not considered to be life-threatening. A fourth person was injured, suffering from a leg injury while attempting to flee.
The victims' names have not been released but police say two of the victims are from out of state. The others are from different parts of Brooklyn. The ages of the deceased range from 32 years old to 49 years old.
Investigators say there is nothing to indicate that this shooting was gang related. A sign on the building says Triple A Aces but police say the area appears to be an illegal gambling location. While the circumstances that promoted the shooting are under investigation, they found dice and cards at the location. There have been no prior complaints of gambling at the location, they say.
The location is a couple of blocks away from the 77th Precinct.
Two firearms were recovered on the scene. Police have also recovered a number of videos from the location or nearby.
No arrests have been made, but police said they were questioning people in connection with the case.
Anyone with information that could  help police can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
Community Advocate Tony Herbert has spoken out against the violence.
"When people go out to enjoy a night of dancing and music, no one should fear that gun violence is going to erupt around them and that they can possibly wind up dead like the four people allegedly shot in a private social club in Brooklyn," Herbert said in a statement.
