A cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point was killed in an accident Thursday morning near a training site, officials say.
According to officials, a M1085 tactical vehicle carrying 20 cadets and two army soldiers overturned near Camp Natural Bridge as the group was heading to a training area they call “The Lanes.”
It is unclear how the truck that is designed to carry soldiers and cargo flipped over, though an investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
The other 21 on board sustained minor injuries, but all are expected to be OK.
Officials still have not released the name of the cadet who died.
The cadets on the truck are all rising seniors a part of the class of 2020. Officials say they've all been offered counseling during this difficult time.
