Looking for something “cool” to do this winter? Why not bumper cars?

The Ocean Ice Rink in Brick Township features ice bumper cars.

The rink’s managers ordered about a dozen cars from Steamboat, Colorado. The cars are controlled by remote, run on wheels and drive on the ice.

Managers say that they provide as much fun as the summertime amusement park ride.

“We have to have people come in here and have fun…if they can’t skate this is another alternative for them to come in and say ‘Hello’ to us,” says vice president of operations Andrew Barten.

Rides will be available on weekends and weekdays.

Ocean Ice Rink is only the fourth ice rink in the entire country to offer ice bumper cars.
