Utility crews across the Hudson Valley say they're ready for the storm, especially the wind.

Orange & Rockland Utilities says it has enough crews and local contractors, and it won't have to bring any in from out of state.

The company says it uses smart meters that alert crews to where the power is out, which it says is a huge time-saver.

O&R also says it uses circuit shrinking technology that helps keep the power on for more people.

"If you have damage on one segment of wire, in the past it would flow to the 300 customers on that circuit. Now, we're able to limit that. We're able to find where the break is in the circuit and isolate it so that the 50 customers are affected, not 300 on that circuit," says Mike Donovan, of O&R.

Still, utility companies say resident should call if your power goes out - the extra communication never hurts.
