Police confirmed Tuesday that a 20-year-old NYU student from Irvington apparently committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of the main library.
Andrew Williamson-Noble, whose body was found about 4:30 a.m., was a junior at NYU.
University spokesman John Beckman said that while the cause of death is still being determined, indications are that the student took his own life.
The spokesman said Williamson-Noble's death is "a matter of great sorrow." He urged troubled students to seek counseling provided by NYU.
