New York state is giving residents the chance to self-report storm damage to their homes and businesses.
The form comes after the intense weather conditions and flooding the New York City and Hudson Valley area experienced on Sept. 29.
Officials want to clarify that the form is not an application for disaster relief programs and does not guarantee disaster relief assistance. Instead, the form's purpose is to collect information that may help identify damages and develop requests for federal disaster recovery assistance programs.
