Amazon released its short list of 20 possible regions for its second headquarters, and metropolitan New York made the list.
Metropolitan New York includes New York City, Westchester and Long Island.
When and if Amazon is ready to do business, Somers Town Supervisor Rick Morrissey says he's ready to take their call.
He insists the northern Westchester town is perfectly located near airports, mass transportation and highways, and on top of that, it has plenty of room to house the internet giant, including vacant properties that once housed Pepsi and IBM.

“They’re move-in-ready. That's 1.5 million square feet waiting to be occupied,” he says.

The competition for Amazon’s second headquarters has been fierce because landing the deal could mean 50,000 new jobs and tens of billions of dollars poured into a local economy.

Westchester officials say beating out regions like Austin, Texas, Chicago and Philadelphia won’t be easy. Business Council of Westchester officials say they will continue to make sure Amazon knows why Westchester would be the best fit.

It’s not clear when Amazon will make its final cut, but Westchester officials believe they have what it takes to make the final cut.
Officials from Amazon say they received 238 proposals for its new headquarters.
