Nonprofits attend hearing on 2016 budget
Nonprofit groups in Westchester on Tuesday packed a public hearing on the county executive's proposed spending plan for next year.
If County Executive Rob Astorino's 2016 budget proposal holds up, groups may see hundreds of thousands of dollars lost.
Legislators can make changes, including a possible tax hike to restore some funds to nonprofits.
Astorino had said earlier this month that he will "veto any budget that has a tax increase."
The next public hearing is set for Dec. 9 in White Plains. The final budget must be in place by Dec. 27.
