A local nonprofit is accusing a Halloween store of discrimination after a group of special-needs adults were kicked out.

According to a Facebook post and Sparc Executive Director Rose Rothe, eight special-needs adults, some with autism and others with cerebral palsy, were kicked out of Halloween Headquarters on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains two weeks ago for what Rothe believes was pure discrimination.

"They didn't get 10 feet into the store when they were approached by an employee who told them to get out right away,” Rothe says.

The young adults are part of Sparc, a nonprofit catering to those with special needs.

News 12 spoke with a man inside Halloween Headquarters, who wouldn’t identify himself as the owner, who said News 12 had to leave unless the crew was interested in costumes.
