Niece says arson suspect lived with her
The niece of a Yonkers arson suspect says she let her uncle move in with her when he lost his job.
Jeanette Rosario, and her boyfriend Luis Medina, say they are in disbelief after losing everything in their Waverly Street home. Rosario?s uncle, Rafael Roldan, is accused of setting the fire that caused the death of Yonkers Firefighter Patrick Joyce.
Rosario says she allowed Roldan to stay at her home after he lost his job as a forklift operator on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers. She then kicked him out when he failed to pay rent for three months. Rosario and her boyfriend moved out of the home Oct. 1 before Roldan allegedly set the fire.
Roldan will appear in Yonkers City Court Monday.
