A local group dedicated to fighting addiction recently got a big corporate boost.
AT&T presented a check for $10,000 to the Newtown Parent Connection.
The organization provides education, counseling and support to families and individuals to prevent substance abuse.
"At some point we all have to come together and work to fight this crisis and embrace these families instead of judging them," said Dorrie Carolan, founder of Newtown Parent Connection.  "So my hope is that we can spread the word, we can get people to come to a Hope meeting before their kids are addicted."
