Newburgh restaurant forced to shut down after massive fire
A restaurant in Orange County has been forced to shut down after a massive fire.
The fire at Andiamo Restaurant on 9W in Newburgh occurred around 10 a.m.
News 12 was told that the restaurant's staff was opening up for the day when heavy fire was spotted in the kitchen and quickly spread.
Everyone got out safely from the three-alarm blaze, and no customers were inside at the time of the fire.
Officials say two firefighters were evaluated for minor injuries on the scene.
Zef Gjurashaj, the restaurant's owner, tells News 12 that the fire is a total loss, crippling his longtime business and leaving his staff without jobs. He said he plans to rebuild.
