A Newburgh mother mourned Sunday after the loss of her only child, who died Friday after spending a week in a coma caused by a car crash.
Carly Sigelbaum and her father, 46-year-old Louis Sigelbaum, were involved in a severe crash along Route 32 in New Windsor last week. Louis Sigelbaum is recovering at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
On Sunday, parishioners at the Holy Name of Jesus Church held a Mass to pray for the Newburgh family. Several parishioners also dropped off condolence cards for the family.
"I'm bringing a card for her father so he can get well and a sympathy card for her mother and for [Carly]," says Jaclyn Patterson.
