Newark's Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event was held today at Ferry Street and Niagara/Chambers streets. 

The event comes as high inflation and higher expenses make it hard for many families to put food on the table. 

A new report released Tuesday found consumer prices surged 8.3% in August.

Stocks fell Tuesday because inflation remains so high, with the Dow losing close to 1,300 points.
