Swimmers will once again be able to take a dive back into the water of New York City beaches.
Beachgoers have been allowed on the sand but haven't been able to enjoy the water until now.
There will be enforcement of social distancing guidelines and everyone must wear face coverings when they're not in the water. "We are ready for a great holiday weekend, lifeguards are ready to go, New Yorkers can stay cool," says Mayor Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio also announced 15 public pools will open across the city by August 1.
