As the remnants of Hurricane Laura make their way through the Hudson Valley, the New York International Air Show has been canceled.
The show was expected to take place Saturday. Earlier in the day, organizers had said the show would end earlier than planned due to the weather, but News 12 is told it is now canceled.
A few civilian performers took flight ahead of the cancellation. The show switched to a drive-in format and moved locations from Stewart International Airport to the Orange County Airport this year amid the pandemic.
A tornado also touched down at Orange County Airport Thursday. Organizers had said Friday that it wouldn't stop the show, but a new round of inclement weather on Saturday ultimately led to the cancellation for the day.
The show will continue as planned on Sunday, and will be held from noon to 4 p.m. All fans in attendance at Saturday's event will be able to use their tickets for Sunday's show.
Organizers say they're still expecting a big crowd.
