Police say one person is dead and a 16-year-old is under arrest after a hit-and-run crash in Newburgh.

City police say the crash occurred Friday night around 11:30 p.m. near South and Lander streets.

According to police, Quamir Johnson, 16 of New Windsor, is charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, driving without a license and failure to yield.

He was arraigned in court Saturday.

Authorities have not releasing the name of the victim.
