Cockroaches seem to have returned to a McDonald's in Yonkers, and customers say they wonder why the restaurant has not been shut down.
As News 12 previously reported, video showed the roaches climbing the walls outside the South Broadway restaurant. New video appears to show two dead cockroaches on one of the green tables inside the McDonald's.
The Westchester County Health Department's first inspection of this McDonald's back in June found a dead roach underneath the ice machine. When News 12 cameras went back Thursday, it spotted a dead roach right near one of the front doors.
The health department says it has inspected this McDonald's twice over the past 2 1/2 weeks with plans to inspect it a third time before a hearing on July 12. It says restaurant management has complied with its inspections trying to control the roach problem.
When asked about shutting the restaurant down because of roaches, the department told News 12 that it doesn't shut restaurants down for roach infestations.
