A woman was rushed to the hospital after a fire in New Rochelle Thursday morning.
Firefighters quickly doused the flames at the apartments on the 2200 block of Palmer Avenue.
They say the fire started in a kitchen.
No one was injured in that apartment, but New Rochelle Fire Department Chief Andrew Sandor said the woman who lives in nearby unit was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
He shared some advice ahead of Christmas Day celebrations.
"We have a lot of things going on, you know, even now with COVID, we're all out of our routine, so we really have to think about fire safety. You know, you leave the apartment for however long, make sure everything is shut off, that kind of thing," Sandor said.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
