The New Rochelle School District is turning to technology to try to stop violence in schools.
The district plans to launch an "anonymous alert app" that would allow students to report bullying or brewing tensions to school officials.
"I think it's an efficient way to get information from the students to administrators," says senior Zoe Jimenez.
Some New Rochelle students say they think such an app would have helped prevent the death of their classmate, 16-year-old Valeree Schwab, who was fatally stabbed earlier this month at a Dunkin' Donuts.
"If someone were at Dunkin' Donuts and they saw this happen they could have sent it on the app and administrators could have known right away," Jimenez says.
The school board will hear a presentation on the proposed app and take it up for discussion during a meeting on Tuesday.
