Like many other celebrations this year, Kwanzaa looks a little different this season
The Gathering of Men of New Rochelle held their eighth annual Community Kwanzaa Celebration, but this year it was on Zoom. "Because we're on a Zoom call, it's going to be a little bit more difficult, but when the water is poured and the name is released, in unison we will say 'Ashe' to remember our ancestors," said Leslie Gaskin.
Kwanzaa is a seven-day cultural holiday that began last Saturday and goes until New Year's Day.
The seven days symbolize seven key principles of African culture, including unity, responsibility, and faith, among others.
