The newest restaurant in Bridgeport was celebrating its grand opening Saturday.
Betty's Kitchen African on Main Street was giving away food as a part of a promotion to get people in the door.
The owner says her chefs use old-world techniques to create authentic African flavors you won't find anywhere else in Connecticut.
Senator Richard Blumenthal is pushing for the federal government to support small business owners like Betty's Kitchen African.
More than 300 people turned out for Saturday’s celebration.
