Monday started off with temperatures below zero that did not rise much past the teens.
Despite the arctic blast of air, many New Jersey residents headed out to the car wash to wash off the salt and brine from the weekend’s winter storm.
“The salt is always the culprit. They just want to wash the car and get the salt off,” says Glow Express Car Wash manager Chris Gillespie.
Gillespie says that there are a lot of heaters inside the car wash to prevent the water on the cars from freezing over.

The biggest issue many of the drivers seemed to face after their car wash Monday was rearview mirrors that iced over.
"I came out of the car wash and I thought there was soap still on my mirror but it's actually ice so I’ve never had that happen to me before,” said customer Amanda Kwiatkowski.
Customer Donnell Smiley found a solution for this issue.
"I’ve got the warmers on - the mirror warmers on, so it takes care of that. But I at least try and get the water off the windows here."
Auto experts say that not washing your car after driving on salt treated roads can lead to rust issues. They also recommend opening and closing all of your doors, and trunk after getting a car wash to keep them from freezing shut.
