Neighbors: Teen in school attack plot troubled
Neighbors of the 15-year-old Central Valley student accused of plotting an attack at his school claim the teen had previous run-ins with the law.
Police say while executing a search warrant Monday night at the home of a Monroe-Woodbury High School student, identified by neighbors as Michael Vanderclock, they found water bottles filled with gasoline, makeshift fuses for Molotov cocktails, a machete and propane tanks.
According to neighbors, Vanderclock has been in trouble with police dozens of times for starting fires on his family's property and drawing swastikas. Also, Vanderclock was suspended from Orange-Ulster Boces for allegedly dangling a student from a window.
The teen is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
