An empty lot on Beech Street in Yonkers was used as an illegal dumping ground, according to neighbors.
They say the lot on Beech Street was used as a dumping ground for over a decade.
News 12 stopped by the home of the person listed as the owner of the property, who later told News 12 that he hasn't owned the empty lot for years.
An attorney for the city says the property is in the foreclosure process because of tax liens but is still technically owned by the prior owner.
Neighbors say they believe all the dumping happened late at night or early in the morning when no one was around.
On Wednesday, the city says discarded furniture that was on the property was removed by the city.
The property is scheduled to be auctioned off and sold to a new owner in early April.
