The National Weather Service has determined that Wednesday?s storm that plowed through Westchester was ?straight-line winds.?

Residents all over the county continued to clean up debris and other damage.

New Castle remains in a state of emergency after the area was fiercely hit. Debris caused road closures and trapped people in their homes and cars. Fallen power lines also proved dangerous. At one Katonah residence, a tree went right through the living room.

The entire village of Croton-on-Hudson lost power, closing all schools Thursday. Schools in Bedford, Chappaqua and Katonah-Lewisboro were all closed Thursday due to the aftermath of the storm.

Bedford and Pound Ridge were also hit hard.

More than 20,000 customers in Westchester and Rockland are still without power. Con Edison is working on restoring power throughout the county, but it has to wait until crews clear out all the downed trees.
