The number of Long Islanders facing food insecurity remains high, and food donations are historically low, according to two of Long Island’s biggest food pantries.

To help cope with demand, Nassau County is planning a charity event featuring Jericho native and singer-songwriter Madison Beer.
The event will take place at Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.

The collected food will go to Long Island food banks like Island Harvest.
