Yonkers residents who were displaced from their homes after a massive mudslide have been told that their building is uninhabitable.
The mudslide forced more than 100 residents of 95-97 Walsh Road out of their homes back in March.
Residents are currently being relocated to other public housing units in the city of Yonkers, including a new building on Warburton Avenue.
"We know this is tremendously unsettling," said Joseph Shuldner, executive director of the Municipal Housing Authority. "We're just trying to make it as comfortable as possible."
Shuldner says residents will be given Section 8 vouchers to help subsidize the rent.
News 12 has learned that some residents are still staying in hotels or with family as they wait for moving dates and locations of their new homes.
The Housing Authority says it is hoping to get everyone permanently settled by the first week of June.
