A group of Mount Vernon High School students was honored Tuesday for being the first school in Westchester to 'Adopt a Park.'
The students were recognized at Wilson Woods Park in Mount Vernon. The students helped clean up the park by releasing trout into local waters and planting edible blueberry bushes.
The students say all their hardwork to make the environment better is paying off.
The county executive presented the group with an official proclamation from the Westchester County Parks Department making today 'Mount Vernon High School Eco-Classroom Recognition Day.'
