There will be a new superintendent for the Mount Vernon School District starting next month.
The Mount Vernon School Board chose longtime New Jersey school official Dr. Kenneth Hamilton to take over the top job.
Dr. Hamilton has over 19 years of experience in educational administration in various New Jersey districts including his most recent post as the superintendent of schools in Monroe Township.
Hamilton replaces interim Superintendent Judith Johnson. He will officially begin a three-year contract on August 11.
