Mount Vernon building to be dedicated to Reginald LaFayette  

LaFayette started his career as the City of Mount Vernon commissioner of human rights and then as the deputy comptroller.

A building in Mount Vernon is being dedicated to a veteran of Westchester County politics.
The honor is going to the late Democratic Election Commissioner Reginald LaFayette.
LaFayette started his career as the City of Mount Vernon commissioner of human rights and then as the deputy comptroller.
He served as city clerk for 15 years among other roles.
In 1999, he was appointed the Westchester County Democratic Election Commissioner, a position he held for over 20 years until his passing in 2022.
There will be a building dedication on East First Street on June 16 at 11 a.m.
